Family: Married Lara Knight Painter of Sumter, South Carolina (June 26, 1993). Have three daughters and one son.
Education: Earned high school diploma at Thomas Sumter Academy in Dalzell, South Carolina (May 1989). Earned Associate of Arts Degree at Anderson Junior College, which is now Anderson University (May 1991). Earned Bachelor of Arts Degree at Furman University (May 1993). Earned Masters of Divinity With Biblical Languages Degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (May 1996). Earned Doctor of Ministry Degree at Beeson Divinity School (May 2008).
Pastoral experience: Pastor of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Wagram, North Carolina (1996 – 1999). Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Hamlet, North Carolina (1999 – 2002). Pastor of First Baptist Church in Williston, South Carolina (2002 – 2009). Pastor of First Baptist Church in Sebring, Florida (2009 – present).
Short-term mission trip experience: Honduras (2007 & 2008), Alaska (2001), Indiana (1996), and Rhode Island (1991).
